| Q. Although it's switched on, my Gardenvac won't collect? |
|---|
|
Ensure that the nozzle is close enough to the leaves/debris Ensure that the mode indicator is on the correct setting. There is a Wet suck, Dry Suck and Blow A wheel is available, to ensure that the vac is used at the appropriate distance from the debris. This also takes load from the user and makes transporting the gardenvac easier. |
| Q. Will the GardenVac suck up wet leaves? |
|---|
|
Yes but we recommend that very wet leaves are not collected. |
| Q. What debris will the GardenVac collect? |
|---|
Only lightweight, low density objects such as leaves, empty drinks cans and garden debris will be collected. High density objects such as stones, acorns, sticks will not be collected. |
| Q. Why do my shredding lines break? |
|---|
The shredding line is a wearing consumable item and as such frequent impacts with the woody stems of leaves will cause the lines to break over a period of time. |
| Q. How do I fit my shredding lines? |
|---|
The shred lines fit into an S-shaped groove in the cutting head inside the machine. Please refer to your user manual. |
| Q. Can I fit a metal shredding line rather than the plastic shredding lines? |
|---|
No Gardenvacs have plastic shredding line because it is safer. |
| Q. My GardenVac is plugged in and assembled, why will it not switch on? |
|---|
For safety reasons the GardenVac is designed to operate only when the debris bag is fitted. Make sure the bag frame is flush alongside the body of the machine and not loose. |
| Q. Can I alter the suction power of the machine? |
|---|
No. The suction power is governed by the speed of the motor and cannot be altered. |
| Q. What does "M-Rate" mean? |
|---|
The M-Rate is the mulching ratio of the Gardenvac. The higher the M rate the more the leaves will be shredded this figure is based on large leaves e.g. Sycamore, some smaller leaves e.g. Oak may not be shredded. |
| Q. What is the main difference between the Gardenvac and the Scirocco? |
|---|
The Gardenvac uses a "clean fan" system via shredding lines therefore it is less likely to block up the suction but there is less mulching. The Scirocco uses a "dirty fan" method of leaf collection which means your get more mulching but it is more likely then the Gardenvac to block the suction. |
| Q. Why will my Scirocco not switch on? |
|---|
The Scirocco has a safety interlock – the access screw on top near the handle should be turned 5 – 6 times to engage the switch – do not over tighten. Once engaged, you will be able to use the product. |
| Q. My Flymo Scirocco will not suck OR blow? |
|---|
If the Scirocco has been working previously clear any blockages. Open the blockage clearing cap and clear debris using a blunt edged instrument (i.e. a stick). Also, ensure that the mode indicator is in the correct position for the required work. |
| Q. The mode indicator will not change from suck to blow function? |
|---|
Cleaning of the slider mechanism is required. |
| Q. I'm being covered in dust while using my Scirocco? |
|---|
Tiny holes in the bag that are necessary for the operation of the Scirocco and will allow very small particles of dust to pass through |
| Q. The impellor has shattered and now it won't work… |
|---|
This is usually the result of impact with solid objects e.g. twigs, stones etc. |
