Check that the machine been primed. (See Instructions), Ensure that the spark plug is connected. |
| Q. Does the pull cord on my machine only pull out approx 6 inches? |

The engine has a brake fitted, which prevents the engine rotating. To release the engine brake the Operator presence Control (OPC) Lever needs to be engaged, this will allow the pull chord to be pulled out. |
| Q. Why is there not a throttle lever on my machine? |

The manufacturing regulations require the lawnmower to meet specific noise and exhaust emission limit. To adhere to these guidelines, a fixed speed carburettor is now fitted to most of our products. Due to manufacturing regulations, the introduction of the Operator Presence Control (OPC Lever) which cuts the ignition and engages a brake on the engine when it is released, make the use of a throttle obsolete. |
| Q. My machine takes leaded petrol, which is hard to get. Can I just start using unleaded or LRP? |

When changing from leaded to unleaded petrol we strongly recommend that the engine is de-carbonised. If this procedure is not carried out and unleaded petrol is used, carbon deposits can come loose in the piston and cylinder area and cause damage. If in doubt, speak to a local service agent. |
| Q. How do I empty oil from my machine? |

The oil can be drained on certain two stroke and most four stroke engines by removing the sump plug under the engine. Please refer to the engine manual for full instructions. |
| Q. How much oil and petrol should I use? |

The oil/petrol ratios differ from machine to machine. Always refer to the engine manual. |
| Q. How does the power drive work? |
|---|
Power drive or self propelled means that the product has a gearbox driven by a belt from a pulley on the crankshaft of the engine; when the drive lever is pulled on the top handle, the gearbox is engaged which turns the wheels, making it easier to move the machine. |
| Q. Why can't I pull my powerdrive lawnmower backwards? |

All rotary lawnmowers can be pulled backwards. If the machine has a self-drive facility, the drive lever must be released. It may be a little difficult; (this is because you are pulling against the drive system). Products should be used in a forward motion only, purely for safety reasons in case you slip and fall while pulling it backwards. |
| Q. The power drive is too fast for me. Can I slow it down? |

The power drive is pre-set; therefore there is no way to actually slow it down. The only way to solve this problem would be to release the self drive lever all together and push the machine. |
